Getting Started

BASIC INTRO TO DAZ STUDIO

DAZ Studio lets you load and modify pre-made content. This should be done from the CONTENT TAB (VIEW –> Tabs –> Content).

I recommend that you change your content tab to FOLDER VIEW. To do this, go to VIEW –> Tabs –> Content. Click the triangle icon in the upper right corner of the tab (“View the Active Tab Options”) and then change from 'View Categories - QuickStart' to ‘View Folders as Tree.’

There are two kinds of icons in the content tab. One kind loads geometry into the scene. Geometry includes figures and props. The other kind of icon changes a geometry (figure, prop, model) that is already in the scene. If you use the first kind, then a figure or prop will appear in your scene. If you use the second kind a figure or prop in your scene can be modified, but you must have that figure or prop selected in the scene tab. Icons in the FIGURES, PROPS, and HAIR directories will load a model into the scene. Icons in the POSES, HANDS, and FACE directories can modify a model already in the scene. If you do not have the correct model loaded and selected when you use these second kind of icons, nothing will change in your scene.

Now go to the folder called Content in the Content Tab. Make sure the folder is expanded so you can see the subfolders. You should see several folders, such as FIGURES and POSES. Go to FIGURES –> DAZ PEOPLE and find Victoria 4.2 EZ (or just Victoria 4.2 if you installed the regular base figure). Double-click to load in the scene. Now go to POSES –> DAZ's VICTORIA 4 where you will find Pose files that can modify Victoria 4.2.

These are basic instructions to help you get started.
