<DAZ_Biggie> ..and now, the moment you've all been waiting for... where'd you go, Jim?
<DAZ_Biggie> Jim, are you back?
<Jim Burton> Yep, I'm back!
<DAZ_Biggie> ok, where was I...? Ah yes, the moment you've all been waiting for... it give me great pleasure to introduce our good friend Jim Burton!

<maartenvs> Jim what inspires you to do these type of models?
<Jim Burton> Thanks!
<DAZ_Biggie> our first question is from Maartenvs up there
<Jim Burton> Oh, lots of things, I enjoy working with human forms, especially female ones.
<Nester751> Thank you for taking the time out of your birthday celebrations to share a chat with us Jim!
<Jim Burton> Incidently, I'm getting reoccuring "An error occured contacting the server" messages
<DAZ_Biggie> yes, those come up in IE... sorry :(
<Jim Burton> Thanks Nester, glad to do it!
<kulay> What are your plans regarding SuperStar Victoria 4?
<Jim Burton> I thinks I'm going to do some new clothing sets, the group will be called "Midnight Lace" first...
<Jim Burton> You may seen some of the previews of stuff on other figures, ...
<timecat06> will there be more clothing hopefuly in PC
<timecat06> Like mini skirt,hot pants,blue jeans ,tank top ,
<Jim Burton> Stuff like Negligees, Peignoirs, that I don't think have been overdone.
<Jim Burton> I want to adapt some of my other sets to her, too.
<Jim Burton> Timecat, yep, I got a set like that underway too.
<Terrell> Thank you for coming here today! Is there a particular model that you prefer to work with? Why?

<DAZ_Biggie> argh, technical issues... Jim, you're a moderator again, sorry
<DAZ_Biggie> Jim, are you back?
<Jim Burton> O>K., in answer (again) to the last question, Ingenue Vicie...
<amsolano> Howdy Jim, have you noticed it getting easier over the years to create content with the tools getting better or harder?
<Jim Burton> Howdy!- Yep, toolsd are getting better (I just switched to Max 9)..
<Jim Burton> and I think I'm getting smarter, too!
<kulay> Will there be a glamorous Sydney?
<Jim Burton> Geeting back to th eprevious question, SSV is my favorite now, ...
<Jim Burton> with th eV-4 magnet setup (and less JCM) she is...
<Jim Burton> easier to make clothing for, too.
<Jim Burton> kulay- I don't know, I got the G2 Jessi beta, so I'm thinking about a Glamorous Jessi G2, though.
<Nester751> I'm curious what software do you prefer to model your characters in?
<Jim Burton> Strage though, DAZ takes the buttocks out, EF puts 'em back in! ;-)
<Jim Burton> Nester- all my modeling has been done in Max 3.1, but I swithing to Max 9.
<Jim Burton> I tried Max 8 but it was too buggy for me.
<timecat06> does v3 clothing fit her if not can we get a normal v3 fit for her
<timecat06> oops i men v4 lol

<Jim Burton> Not really, I think something like Wardrobe Wizard will be required...
<Jim Burton> To improve her (over V4) I had to make some changes, that ...
<Jim Burton> prevents her from really wearing th esame clothing. ou can't..
<Jim Burton> make an omlet without breaking eggs!
<wawadave 1> what was your best picture so far?
<Jim Burton> Ha! Some that are too racy for DAZ, I like "The Key" maybe best of all mine.
<skyewolf> With the new body style for V4 and the wider range of looks people can get with her, did you find it harder to come up with something unique for V4?
<Jim Burton> I'd like too, but the Frenh Maids never sold all that well- fun to make, and use in renders, I always though, though.
<Jim Burton> Nope, II think V4 is the best modeled DAZ figure yet, but I could still finf lots of things I though ...
<Jim Burton> should be different. I did have trouble ...
<Jim Burton> coming up with morphs taht were better than the DAZ ones, though, which ...
<Jim Burton> is why SSV doesn't have as many included as my other figures.
<JamesBong> Jim, the new SSV morph is beautiful, but it dosn't look like she'll work with existing clothes. Are you creating a wardroab for her, or will you create a magnet set to fit v4's existing clothes to SSV?
<DAZ_Biggie> to ask Jim a question, send your question to QuestionBot as a private message by clicking "@QuestionBot" on the right hand side
<Jim Burton> I'll be creating a complete wardrobe for her!
<Kuanbyr> Jim what do you think are the best tools for making models for Poser and DAZ Studio?
<kokuryu> what has been your greatest challenge so far?
<Jim Burton> In addition to Max, I use Photoshop, Poser File Ediotor (highly recommended), UV Mapper, ...
<Jim Burton> Objaction Scaler, MT Mirror and a lot of other super utilities.
<Jim Burton> Kokuryu- finishing up my schooner!
<angusm> Will you be updating some of your hairstyles for V4? Hollywood Hair remains one of the best hair sets made, and I'd love to see that on V4.
<Jim Burton> Yep, you should see something next week, in fact, at DAZ!

<kulay> Have you ever worked on male figures? If not why?
<Jim Burton> kulay-very seldom, I don't know why. I've started some male stuff, I had a Tux about 3/4 done for Mike, I just never could finish it, though.
<Valandar> Have you ever tried you make your own figure from scratch? If so, will it ever see release?
<Jim Burton> I am doing a WWII plane, if I get it done it is going to need a (male) flyer, though.
<Jim Burton> Yep, I've made a couple inn face, I have some low-res Sims figures that were 100% original, plus low-res Lori is about 90% original.
<sissywoods> could you tell us more about your background with art, and do you have a web site?
<Jim Burton> The main reason I use existing figures as a base is...
<Jim Burton> to tie into there morph and texture libraries...
<Jim Burton> the only _really_ hard parts of a figure to model are th eteeth and ears, IMHO!
<Jim Burton> I started out as an engineer, worked as one for 15 years, ...
<Jim Burton> then I quit and went back to school, as a fine arts major...

<Jim Burton> later I became intrested in computer (this was arounf 1982), and later computer-related art.
<Jim Burton> I never graduated, BTW, but I have _taught_ college courses!
<Jim Burton> oh, my web site is http://digitaldreams.bbay.com, but I haven't updated it in awhile.
<Nester751> Will you be doing a heroes outfit too?
<Jim Burton> I'm thinking about it, I left oven the "Space Cadets" version just for SSV!
<kulay> Will there be an Ingenue Victoria 4?
<Jim Burton> I've thought about a IV4, but I'm unsure.
<Jim Burton> Sometimes I think I'm spreading myself a little too thin, too.
<timecat06> have you ever thought about doing a set of angel wings
<Jim Burton> I don't plan on abandening IV and GV yet either, there will be futer stuff for 'em!
<Jim Burton> timecat- I actually did a set, look at my "High Fashion Vickie" Set at DAZ.
<Jim Burton> I think there are wings in there.
<DAZ_Biggie> Well, Jim, the hour is up, so I'll turn off moderation, however, we'll leave the room open so olks that want to can hang out and chat some more.
<DAZ_Biggie> JIm, many thanks for your time today. This has been great!
