<DAZ_mattw> as you can see, there's a quality to her work that is incredibly rare
<DAZ_mattw> her work epitomizes the idea of "photo realistic" in a lot of cases
<DAZ_mattw> Anyhow, start getting your questions in now!
<addy> hi everybody :)

<Nester751> Hello addy!
<addy> hi there :)
<addy> i guess most of you know my images... now a few words about my self :)
<addy> im from romania, eaaster europe for those that dont know whre romania is hehe

<duncan-blues> Addy: What's your artistic background? Are you self-tutored? Did you study art? Are you are natural genious? *g*
<addy> im a graphic artist, i guess u can say that is my job and my main hobby , this is what i always liked to do :)

<Naunet> what type of art classes did you take in school
<addy> its what i always loved to do duncan but i also learned 6 years how to improve my skills in the art academy here
<addy> im always willing to learn and grow as an artist so the art academy helped me

<Dream_Catcher_Designs> What inspires you artistically?
<Dolphins-Dreams> Do you prefer a particular style?
<addy> everything can be a great source of inspiration at some point depends on my mood i guess :)
<addy> a particular style? i love photorealistic images and i guess u can see that in most of my images :)

<Dolphins-Dreams> Thanks for coming! So what drew you to doing digital art vs. the more traditional mediums?
<addy> digital art is a new field for me, im into it for 3 years or so
<addy> i wanted to try it because i always like to try new things
<addy> and i descoverd its an interesting and fun way to use my skills :)
<DAZ_mattw> the digital art community is lucky to have you join. This work is really amazing.
<addy> thats very kind of you, thanks :)

<bernards> How much post-processing must you perform to get that phenominal photo-realistic look to your work?
<addy> depends on the image :)
<addy> its not a certain recipe :)

<Dolphins-Dreams> Your images are so incredibly detailed. How long does it take you to paint one from start to finish?
<addy> well none of my images so far are entirely painted
<addy> but the postwork can take me from several hours to a few days

<Dolphins-Dreams> You are no doubt an inspiration to a lot of us, but who inspires you?
<addy> beauty inspires me, beauty in all its forms and shapes and colors :)

<dragoneer> Are the "My self" images photo based or 3D modeling?
<DAZ_SSS>
<DAZ_SSS>
<addy> those are both photos :)
<DAZ_SSS> hehe
<DAZ_mattw> ok, we're going to show off some of addy's work
<DAZ_mattw> and see if we can elicit a nugget of wisdom or two as we go through them
<addy>

<DAZ_mattw> That's probably the most hard-to-believe-its-digital image ever.
<addy> talking about who inspires me.... Chris inspired me to make some of my best images, he is my favorite model :)
<addy>

<DAZ_mattw> and yet you have a tutorial explaining it in depth, correct?
<addy> yes , i have a tutorial that shows exactly how the image was made exactly because sometimes people have a hard time to believe that is not a photo :)
<addy>

<DAZ_mattw> that's a very interesting piece, because it almost looks more to me like an oil than a photo, but still a far cry from most digital renders
<addy>
<addy>
<addy> the image above the last one is the second 3D image i made :)

<DAZ_mattw> the jessica image, or the scifi one?
<addy>
<addy> the blonde girl wearing a white top :)
<DAZ_mattw> oh!
<addy> the one that looked like a painting :)

<DAZ_mattw> so it's safe to say you embraced your postwork techniques early
<addy>
<addy> yes that would be correct :) i think the postwork is very important for an image

<addy>

<DAZ_mattw> your techniques with hair really stand out as masterful
<addy> this is a self portrait :)
<DAZ_mattw> very nice

<turan> From the few photo's I've seen of you is "Smile" a self portraite?
<addy> and also the image for my "Amazing Hair" tutorial :)
<addy> yes that is a self portait too :)
<DAZ_SSS>
<addy> this one, yes :)

<turan> How much of your work is Poser and how much is Postwork? and what area of postwork to you focus on most eg. hair?
<addy> the hair is almost always done in postwork
<addy> also i always try to make the eyes more... "" alive in postwork, give them that spark that can make a 3D character look like a real person
<addy> I would say 50% is poser that takes %25 of the time
<addy> the other 50% is postwork that takes 75% of the time
<addy> :)

<dragoneer> Is the model in "That Moment" M3 based or G2"?
<addy> M3 :)

<guandalug> Which programs do you use for your pictures? (3D and postwork)
<danaL> with what do you do your hair in postwork?
<turan> Given this is a Daz Forum do you ever use DazStudio?
<addy> so far all my images are made with Poser and Photoshop for postwork
<addy> i have of course Daz Studio but i havent spent as much time playing with it, im still learing a lot about Poser and try to get better at using it as a tool :)

<shadowfire87> I really love your B&W work. Are there any differences; in your approach; to working a B&W render?
<addy> no, i use the same techniques :) but its not that complicated because there are no colors so i just focus on the black and white tones :)

<Nester751> A lot of your artwork is very warm. Do you have a range of a color palette selection that you prefer?
<addy> i'm not trying to use certain colors , i guess I just like warm colors :)

<maartenvs> Addy when you draw in photoshop, do you do this with a mouse or with a tablet and pen
<Splurt> Do you use a wacom or something in photoshop, or just the mouse?
<addy> i use a wacom tablet :)

<shadowfire87> It is also a blessing that you share your knowledge. Are there any more tutorals in the works and when?
<addy> I'm not sure when I'll have a new tutorial ready , soon I hope :)

<Kuanbyr> Addy, where should we look to find your tutorials on how to do this amazing work that you do?
<addy> any suggestions or questions would be really great and it would help me to teach other artists what they really want to know :)
<addy> right now they are available on renderosity.com :)

<DAZ_mattw> there are links to her tutorials in the 'about me' section of her artzone profile, in fact

<addy> congratulations :) I hope you will enjoy the tutorials !
<DAZ_mattw> we now return you to this regularly scheduled chat...
<slickerk> Do you always start out with a specific idea for your images? Or do you sometimes just go with the flow?
<duncan-blues> what's your main/most frequent goal for your artwork? Do you mainly get assignment to do specific pictures, do you do picture in hopes of selling them or mainly "ars gratia artis"?
<addy> i never make my images hoping to sell them :)
<addy> every time i make an image is because i want to, because something inpired me and i just had to share with the rest of the world my own vision about that subject :)
<addy> most of the time i start with a specific idea but it happens to just have some new awaesome 3D toys , characters or clothes and than I just play with them and if i like what I get I make a new image :)
<rmash1948> Thank you so much for being here, addy. Your work is, well, something I look at and sigh wistfully over. *chuckles*
<DAZ_mattw> Allright, we have time to squeeze in just one last question....
<addy> aw hehe thank you all for being here :)
<ShadowCra> Do you always work with a photo reference to fix imperfections in renders?
<addy> no, only when i want to make the portrait of someone , otherwise I just use my experience as an artist and my imagination :)
